The styles and flavors of the beers on tap at Belching Beaver Tasting Room are as unique as the name of the brewery. Although they have a tavern and a tasting room in Vista, one of their three other locations is probably close to you (full location details at end of article). Each of these tasting rooms offers beer lovers a chance to try out the amazing range of Belching Beaver beers on tap, as well as special releases, and amazing food trucks.

Hoppy Delicious IPA Goodness

For those who can’t get enough India Pale Ales (IPAs) you’ll love the Phantom Bride IPA, which at 7.1% offers a nice balance of citrus and hoppy flavors. Their Hop Highway IPA at 7.3%, which is named for California Highway 78, which connects a number of area breweries. Hop Highway a delicious represenation of a West Coast IPA with Galaxy, Nelson, Mosaic and Citra hops, so expect some nice crisp bitterness. Finally, there’s Here Comes Mango IPA, which at 6.6% and 55 IBUs, is a much more approachable IPA for drinkers who want more of a fruity and juicy flavor in their beer.

Milky, Creamy, Chocolatey Stouts!

For those who aren’t into IPAs or who prefer something a little less typical, consider the range of Belching Beaver milk stouts. First, there’s the original Milk Stout, the first beer produced by this brewery. Coming in at 5.3% alcohol and featuring traditional stout flavors like chocolate and coffee, this dark and creamy blend is made with rolled oats and lactose. It’s a fantastic beer to build a brewery around, and one that any level of beer drinker can enjoy.

Of course, there are a couple of fun twists on this classic available as well. The hallmark example is the Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout – a new classic. The PB Stout is one of the first beers you share with an out-of-towner because it’s likely something they’ve never tried before. It’s fairly low (5.3%) ABV, combined with its delicious nutty and chocolate flavors are reminiscent more of dessert than a beer. Indeed, a bottle of PB stout and a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream make a fantastic pairing. You’ll also want to try the recently released Mexican Chocolate PB Stout, another award winning year-round release!

Belching Beaver also offers one of the finest locally brewed easy-drinking-beers, the Me So Honey Blonde ale, which is a light, easy-drinking, and somewhat sweet wheat ale. It’s perfect choice for a day at the beach, watching the Padres with some friends, or BBQing up some carne asada. At 5.5%, you can enjoy a few!

No matter your taste preferences, the Belching Beaver has something for you!
