La Margarita Mas Caliente

The Barra Barra Saloon claims to make the best margarita in all of San Diego. That alone probably makes this place worth a visit. In addition to a large Tex-Mex food menu with everything from quesadillas and tacos to burritos and empanadas, they also have a number of premium margaritas available for your enjoyment, including their spicy, jalepeno-infused “Lo Mas Caliente.”

The Happy Hour specials at Barra Barra Saloon include $4 drafts and house wines, $5 house margaritas and $6 premium specials which regularly change. You can also enjoy $3 flatbread tacos made with beef, chicken or mixed veggies.

Instead of Tex-Mex, Cafe Coyote focuses on traditional Mexican dishes. They make fresh tortillas from scratch, and they serve up Mexican dishes like pollo al la crema and chili Colorado.

The Happy Hour specials at Cafe Coyote are something to howl about! They offer $4 select draft beers, $6.50 for shots of pomegranate tequila or Coyote Blue, $7.50 Coyote Gold margaritas and $8.50 strawberry, pomegranate or pineapple chipotle margaritas. The food discounts are also pretty good. For $4, you can enjoy shrimp tacos, while $3 will get you cantina tacos made with your choice of meat.

The Happy Hour specials at Harney Sushi include $4 for a Sapporo draft or a glass of Anterra Pinot Grigio, $5.50 for a large hot sake or a glass of Murphy Goode Pinot Noir, or $7 for a bottle of Hana Awake sake, an Ozeki Nigori vase or infused sake vases. They have food discounts, ranging from $4 for sweet potato fries to $10 for the Half & Half roll or their sustainable nigiri sampler.

You can get drafts of Bud Light or well drinks for $3, house margaritas, bottles of Tecate or a draft of Dos XX lager for $4. For $5, you can enjoy a Friday Rita. Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant offers visitors fine dining and incredible accommodations in a historic setting. Originally built as a home made of adobe in 1827, it was converted into a two-story hotel in 1869. Since then, it has also been an olive cannery and a Mexican restaurant. These days, it’s back to serving as a hotel and restaurant, which serves afternoon tea, weekend brunch and dinner, all with New American dishes.

The Happy Hour specials at Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant include half off glasses of house wine and $6 each for draft beers or well drinks. There are food specials as well, which include $6 for street corn, ahi lettuce wraps, calamari, artichoke and spinach, and bruschetta. For a few more dollars, you can enjoy a discounted flatbread.
