Monday: Crab Hut

Crab Hut is family owned and has spread out to three locations in the last decade. In addition to this location in Mira Mesa, they have restaurants downtown and in Kearny Mesa.

This place sells seafood by the weight and boils it in specialty seasonings. They serve crawfish, shrimp, whole lobster, whole Dungeness crab, clusters of snow crab, King crab legs, clams and mussels. Side dishes include potatoes, corn, corn bread and steamed rice.

Happy Hour specials at the Crab Hut include $4 draft beers, discounted fresh oysters for just $1.50 each, with a minimum of five and several other discounted food specials, such as low priced chicken wings.

On Tuesdays, you’re probably looking for a couple of good drinks and some tacos. The Casual Side Bar is inside the lower level of The WineSellar & Brasserie. This little restaurant has a full bar with at least 25 wines available by the glass and more than 20 bottled beers.

During Happy Hour at The Casual Side Bar, you can enjoy $1 off any cocktail, draft beer or glass of wine. You can also take $2 off the standard price for certain items on their tapas menu. On Tuesdays, however, those specials are even better. You can enjoy a pair of the weekly specialty tacos for just $7.

Hot pot dishes are certainly on trend these days, and Quality Taste Hot Pot makes it easy for you and your friends to see what it’s all about. The menu is diverse, with options including sausage, beef ball, curry fish ball and corn skewers, as well as bacon wrapped shrimp and scallion pancakes. You’ll find certain specialty Chinese dishes on the menu as well, such as kung pao chicken and shredded pork bamboo.

The Happy Hour specials here are pretty straightforward. You can take $1 off of any beer you order. They also discount their appetizers by 10 percent, with their salt and pepper chicken wings undoubtedly being the most popular option.

The menu here offers American staples, like hot and cold sandwiches, burgers and fried fish. There are also plenty of fried appetizers, from onion rings to clams.

Happy Hour specials vary, although they often offer discounts on their already low prices for well drinks and draft beers. The biggest Happy Hour appeal is that sometimes Tom Cat Bar & Grill serves up free food, including their locally famous chicken wings, during Happy Hour.

This place is an offshoot of a popular Hillcrest restaurant that was actually the first pizza place in San Diego 70 years ago. The menu includes plenty of pizza options, as well as pastas and sandwiches.

The Happy Hour specials at Pernicano’s Ristorante will certainly leave you smiling. You can enjoy bottles of beer for $4, draft beers for $5 and house wines by the glass for $6.50. They also discount certain appetizers by $2.
