Torrey Hills is a sprawling, lovely area in the north part of San Diego that doesn’t get much attention, especially compared to trendy downtown neighborhoods. However, with convenient highway access and a population of well over 10,000, Torrey Hills has a lot to offer. Nearby Torrey Pines is much smaller, but it does have several great places to eat!

Not everything in this area is residential, either. There are quite a few fun restaurants, bars and clubs attracting both locals and people from all over the county. We’ve tracked down a week’s worth of excellent Happy Hour specials in Torrey Hills for your drinking enjoyment!

Monday: Crust Pizzeria

If you enjoy thin crust, crispy pizzas, then Crust Pizzeria is the perfect place to stop after work on a stressful Monday. They use a 40-year-old recipe for their homemade crust, serving up hand-tossed dough topped with homemade sauce featuring local tomatoes.

While you can certainly enjoy their social hour Happy Hour specials any day of the week, on Mondays, that pricing lasts all day! Their Happy Hour specials include $3 off any of their craft cocktails, as well as rotating specials on beers and wines. They also offer food discounts, so be sure to ask what the specials are before placing an order.

Located conveniently close to Torrey Pines in Del Mar, Boto Sushi serves up incredible food and awesome Happy Hour specials. The quality of fish at this restaurant is quite high. In fact, you won’t find much better in the area, no matter how hard you look.

The Happy Hour specials at Boto Sushi include $2 off of any draft beer, as well as half off any house hot sake or house wine by the glass. You can also take 50 percent off the price of any of their “Taste Worthy Rolls,” except for the RowShamBow Roll. Their Bottom Feeder, Dragon, Shark Bait and Spicy Albacore rolls are all half off during Happy Hour!

Wednesday: Pacific Poke

Located on the edge of Mira Mesa and Torrey Hills, Pacific Poke has made a real name for itself for serving up fresh fish and authentic flavors.

Their signature bowls are all named for local neighborhoods, including the Mission Bay with cucumber, edamame and scallions, the PB with fresh pineapple, masago and sesame seeds, and the La Jolla with ginger, seaweed and garlic sesame soy sauce. You can also build your own with your choice of protein, sauces and veggies.

The Happy Hour specials here are pretty simple, actually. You can enjoy $2 off of any poke bowl. Unfortunately, they don’t offer any drinks, but you can always take your bowl to go, and enjoy a craft beer or glass of wine at home with your incredibly fresh fish.

Thursday: Brushfire Kitchen

Not only do they serve incredible breakfast at Bushfire Kitchen in Torrey Pines of Del Mar, they also have an impressive selection of braised meats. Whether you’re in the mood for braised lamb curry, braised Angus beef brisket, braised BBQ pork or chipotle braised short ribs, it’s all on the menu here.

The Happy Hour specials a Bushfire Kitchen involve getting a 50 percent discount off of beers and wines. You can also enjoy discounts on certain foods, like their poutine with braised short ribs, their chicken, Green or prosciutto flatbreads, or their Peri Peri chicken wings, all for only $7.95.

Friday: Seasurf Fish Co.

If you’re looking for flavorful fish with modern flair, then Seasurf Fish Co. is the perfect place to kick off your weekend! Their menu includes a Chimichurri shrimp, quinoa and kale salad, as well as a Cajun salmon Caesar, catfish and chips, spicy tikka masala bowls, and a whole range of tacos from avocado shrimp to sweet potato and fresh grilled fish.

The Happy Hour specials at Seasurf include craft draft beers, wine by the glass, Ozeki Nigori Sake or Jinro Grapefruit Soju for only $5. The food specials are just as impressive. They will offer $1 fresh-shucked oysters, at the discretion of the staff. There is also Mexican ceviche or poke nachos for $6, fish tacos for $2 and tasty chowder fries for just $5.

Saturday: The Clubhouse Grill

Located inside the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, The Clubhouse Grill aptly straddles the line between casual and classy. There’s a weekend brunch menu that features chicken and waffles, as well as fish tacos. There are also daily themed specials during weekdays, such as Fried Chicken Friday.

Unlike some places, their Happy Hour focuses on the busier bar days, running from Thursday to Saturday. During their “19th Hole” Happy Hour, you can enjoy select beers for $5 and wines for $7 each glass. There are also discounts on appetizers (or Shareables, as they call them), with select options available for just $6.

Specializing in New American cuisine and offering breakfast/brunch daily, Bistro 39 has a popular following in Torrey Hills. They’re a laid back and classy place to enjoy a drink and something fresh on a Sunday afternoon. Their menu includes dishes ranging from an organic kale and quinoa steak salad to a French dip sandwich and pizzas or flatbreads.

The Happy Hour specials at Bistro 39 include domestic beers, well cocktails and house wines for $4.75, as well as import beers for just $5.50. They also have plenty of great food discounts, such as stuffed crimini mushrooms, fried Brie and even six chicken wings for $5.
