If you’re in the mood for a craft beer while near Kearny Mesa, it may be time to pay a visit to Council Brewing Company. They have more than two-dozen beers on tap, as well as a locally brewed kombucha for your health-conscious friends.

Council Brewing focuses on intense flavors and traditional style brews. You can usually find at least one sour beer on tap, as well as a host of more standard ales and beers. Council Brewing tries to make craft beer accessible to everyone. Their tasting room is wheelchair accessible, and they also permit dogs.

A Line-up That’s Always Fresh and Fun

Thanks, in no small part, to offering so many taps, Council Brewing has something for just about any beer connoisseur. They have several different IPAs, including an American IPA currently on tap called Bully Pulpit and several different Hazy IPAs, like their Weekend Brunch and Questionable Advice. For those who prefer something a little more sippable, they have a blonde ale, called Lively Banter, as well as several stouts and porters. They don’t shy away from Belgian ales either.

If you want something you can’t find at just any brewery, consider their sours. They offer a range of fruited sour beers called Beatitude Tart Saisons, each of which features a different fruit. You can find it on draft in the tasting room or in bottles at their facility, on their website and at certain retailers in California.

They have 13 different blends, including apricot, black currant, blueberry, cherry, mango, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, raspberry, three berry and prickly pear. There is also a citra dry-hopped version and a mosaic dry-hopped version.

Additionally, your friends who have gluten sensitivities can enjoy some of the brews here. Several of their offerings, including their Broken Wand American Dark Sour Ale and their Quoron Experimental IPA, have been specially crafted to reduce gluten.
