Eating your vegetables doesn’t magically become more exciting when you enter adulthood. Just like children who try to hide their greens in napkins or try (and fail) to feed them to the dog, adults will often go to great lengths to avoid vegetables. Unfortunately, doing so can have a long-term impact on your health and well-being.

If you don’t like eating fresh, steamed, braised or stir-fried vegetables, thankfully, there’s an alternative. You can drink your daily servings of vegetables in a smoothie! Not only do you get to avoid the unadulterated flavor of vegetables, you also keep all the health benefits, as smoothies typically include whole, raw vegetables. No nutrients end up lost, like they do in the cooking process.

While you could go to some jumbo corporation juice shop, you’d be missing out on the freshest and most flavorful smoothies in San Diego. Unlike juice, a smoothie includes all parts of the vegetables and fruits inside it, preserving the fiber and other parts that get strained out of juice. There are many excellent, locally-owned restaurants that serve smoothies.

In fact, there are a few establishments that focus solely on smoothies and similar health-conscious options. Instead of paying big bucks for your own smoothie machine, you can stop into one of these incredible and healthful local businesses to try out one of their many concoctions. Getting your daily dose of plant-based nutrition has never been as easy or as tasty as it is at these four smoothie shops!
