Summer is just around the corner, and that means it’s FESTIVAL SEASON. No, we’re not talking about X-Fest or Kaaboo (although those festivals have some tasty eats, too). We’re talking about the various San Diego Food Festivals, a collection of weekends dedicated to all of our favorite San Diego goods.
Here’s our list of San Diego Food Festivals we’re most excited about this year:

San Diego Greek Festival (June 9th-11th)

Opa! This annual festival is a great chance to channel your inner Greek. Enjoy Gyros and Greek Coffee and imported Beers & Wine in the heart of Hillcrest. If you don’t know what a Loukoumade is, now’s your chance to try one! There’s also a beer garden to help build up your liquid courage before taking on the dance floor. Go for the delicious food and drink, stay for the socializing and fun atmosphere.

OysterFest (June 9-10th)

Oysters from SD Oysterfest

The Coachella of Food Festivals – Along with all the oysters, Sierra Nevada beers, and other foods you can try, this festival actually has an amazing music line-up as well. There are also some fun interactive exhibits as well, like the ‘My First Oyster’ booth and the ‘Oyster Shucking Exhibit’. Who doesn’t want to learn to shuck oysters with a beer in hand while jamming to Matisyahu?

Taste of Little Italy (June 14th)

Find a new favorite restaurant in Little Italy! For just one ticket price, you can sample some of the best appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages from the neighborhood. This festival is a nice way to spend a Wednesday date night. For less than the price of dinner, you can try a little bit of everything. Vendors include Crack Shack, Indigo Grill, Craft & Commerce and so many more.

Taste of Adams Ave (June 25th)

At the biggest event on Adams Avenue, the street is literally lined with amazing eats. Similar to the Little Italy tour, Taste of Adams Ave gets you all the samples you could want for the price of one $40 ticket. This fest runs from 11AM – 3PM, the perfect time of day to get at least 3 full meals (maybe 4 with dessert). With Soda & Swine, Senor Mangos and Fall Brewing Co. are top tour stops this year. Don’t miss out!

Heroes Brew Festival (July 22nd)

Comic Con is always wild in San Diego, so why not add a superhero-themed brew fest right next door? This fest is the perfect excuse to wear your best character costume, especially if you didn’t get a ticket to Comic Con this year. Drink some beer, listen to some DJs’ and meet some comic book artists right down on the SD waterfront.

Del Mar Gourmet Food Truck Festival (July 29th)

Nothing better than eats on wheels! Get hungry for the tastiest food trucks in Southern California. With cheap food truck prices (usual $6-$10) you can’t beat this food fest. Trucks include Devilicious, Lobsta Truck, Tri Tip Man, and approximately 30 others!

Mira Mesa Festival of Beers (August 13th)

Take advantage of all the amazing local San Diego breweries at one great festival. The Mira Mesa Fest features a few lesser known breweries, like 2Kidz Brewing Co. and Intergalactic. Don’t worry, the classics like Sierra Nevada and Lagunitas are there too. Try some beers and meet some Mira Mesa Folks!

San Diego BaconFest (Sept. 2nd)

Spend International Bacon Day the right way, with Beer & Bacon & great Bands. San Diego BaconFest features a whole bunch of local vendors like BIGA, Fall Brewing Co, and Belching Beaver. All food samples are included in ticket price. Still not convinced? How about this testimonial featured on their website:
