Event Name: Restaurant Week San Diego
Dates: September 24-October 1; hours vary by participating businesses
Cost: The price of the meal, no special fees or tickets
All ages welcome, though many meals are geared toward adult palates
If there’s one thing that’s frustrating about the San Diego restaurant and bar scene, it’s that there are so many amazing places. How are you ever supposed to try each one that suits your preferences and tastes? If you tried once and ordered something you didn’t like, should you go back or just move on? Restaurant Week is a great time to explore new eateries or give a place that failed to wow you the first time a second chance. Local businesses join in to promote eating out across San Diego for eight, food-filled days.
This fall, there will be more than 180 local restaurants participating in Restaurant Week, which runs from Sunday, September 24 through Sunday, October 1. The goal is to highlight the incredibly diverse and amazing eateries across San Diego. All the participating restaurants create special prix fixe menus, and some will continue serving their expanded full menu as well.
You Don’t Need a Pass or Ticket to Participate
Unlike some special events, Restaurant Week doesn’t require much pre-planning for foodie participants. You don’t have to buy tickets or passes ahead of time, although for some places, making reservations may be your best way to ensure you get a table. Some restaurants have dinner offerings, others offer lunch and some offer both. You won’t find breakfast this year, but there are plenty of breakfast joints around town that you can visit.
The joy of prix fixe menus is that the price is fixed and several different courses are served. Lunch offerings start at $15 per person and go up from there. Multi-course dinners can be had at participating restaurants for as little as $20 per diner, with some places offering pricier options, up to $50 per plate.

Restaurant Week San Diego Has a Very Helpful Website
Whether you’re looking for a comprehensive list of all participating restaurants or want to search for places close to your home or work, the Restaurant Week site can help you connect with the right places. In fact, you can even limit the search based on how much per person you want to pay.
As the dates get closer, more participating restaurants will make their Restaurant Week Prix Fixe menus available on the website, as well as on their own websites. No matter what kind of meal you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it during Restaurant Week!
