When spring is fully here, many people find themselves nesting. That process can include frenetic cleaning, as well as redesigning or remodeling space in the home. For some people, those efforts could make it painfully clear that their space is in need of new art to hang on the walls.

Instead of going to a bunch of awesome art galleries around time, which could take weeks, you can seek your next conversation starter or focal point at the San Diego Botanic Gardens! Not only are the gardens themselves a major attraction (one of the top 10 North Americans garden tourism destinations), they also host some really incredible events. Those events include ArtFest 2018.

Enjoy Beautiful Plants While Browsing Local Art

The setting certainly sets ArtFest apart from other awesome local events in April. There will be more than 20 local and regional artists at ArtFest 2018, all of whom will have original and amazing artwork on display and available for purchase throughout this garden paradise.

These artists represent many of the different creative fields, including sculptors, potters, painters and glass, fiber and gourd artists. Some will even give free presentations and demonstrations that show their creative process. You can stroll through the carefully manicured gardens and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while browsing for a print, painting or portrait that would be perfect in your home. That means you can enjoy your day out while supporting local and regional talent!

Food, Gifts and Educational Events

In addition to the art displays, there will be much more to enjoy. There will be live music as you stroll, provided by Bob Ballentine and friends. The San Diego Botanic Garden will have displays and demonstrations celebrating Asian horticulture. The Keiri Study Group of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana and Bonsai and Beyond will be there to educate the public and raise awareness of these horticultural works of art.

If all that walking leaves you feeling a bit peckish, you can enjoy a salad, sandwich, snack or coffee from The Feel Good Coffee Cart, which is conveniently located by the gift shop for the Botanic Gardens. The gift shop will have gardening supplies, including plants, as well as fun and creative gifts.

This event is just one of many exciting offerings at the San Diego Botanic Gardens. Considering the fact that admission is $14 per adult but memberships start at just $55, this could be a great excuse to become a member of the San Diego Botanic Gardens.
