Both residents and tourists know San Diego as a prolific craft beer town, but the sheer number of the beer-related events happening this weekend is enough to make even the most die-hard enthusiast blush. Three craft beer events are occurring on March 10th, and the best thing about these events is although they’re beer focused, they appeal to vastly different types of beer lovers.

For Those Interested in Homebrew

Location: 2896 North Park Way (map)
Date and Time: March 10 from noon to 4 p.m.
Age Restrictions: 21 and over only
Ticket Cost: $35 for standard tickets, $10 for designated drivers (tickets can be purchased here)

If you’re a homebrewer, or someone who appreciates the hard work and intensity that goes into a perfectly crafted beer, the San Diego Homebrew Fest & Competition is for you. On Saturday, March 10th, located in the parking lot behind The Observatory in North Park, homebrewers from around the county will participate to see whose beer is best. Over 35 competitors are expected to compete, and spectators have the opportunity to sample all the beers for single $35 ticket.

For Live Music Lovers

Enjoy live music? Want to sample beers from over 50 brewers while rocking out? Want to help a good cause while doing so? Then the Rock Star Beer Festival is for you. On Saturday, March 10th, from 6 – 10 p.m., the Festival will be going off at Humphrys by the Bay on Shelter Island. For a $35 ticket (VIP is $50), you get full access to this 21+ event, which includes the beer samples, and music from Offspring Tribute, Live DJ’s, and Pop Punk Mayhem.

For the Outdoor Day Drinkers

Date and Time: March 10, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: 1 Marina Park Way (map)
Ticket Cost: $40 to $115 per person (Buy tickets here)
Age Restrictions: 21 and over only

For a more traditional, and very San Diego, day drinking festival experience, you gotta check out the 2018 Best Coast Beer Fest. This massive, mid-day event promises to scratch your beer-craving itch. The Best Coast Beer Fest bills itself as Will Ferrell’s favorite beer fest, due to his partnership with the event to help support Cuck Fancer, a charity that helps financially support cancer patients and survivors.

We mentioned this event is going to be huge right? They’re expecting over 200 beers from over 100 local breweries. Your $45 ticket gets your unlimited beer samples from 2 – 5 p.m., a souvenir tasting cup, and live music from local bands. VIP tickets are $95, but unfortunately already sold out. If you’re feeling particularly charitable you can spring for the $2,500 private cabana, which includes VIP admission for 10 people, unlimited food, and executive restroom privileges.
