Because Back to School Means Back to Coffee, Here’s 5 Spots for SDSU Students to Get Great Coffee

It’s almost that time, kids! With the start to school speedily approaching, we want to be sure you’re ready for the grind of Fall semester. We’ve done a little bit a research, and here are 5 of the most highly praised spots to get a cup of coffee (and maybe a little more) in the College area so you know where to get your caffeine fix.

BCB Coffee Cart is Quick & Easy

BCB Coffee Cart

We’ve been drinking BCB coffee all Summer at their Hillcrest store location, but no need to let the start of school dampen our spirits! With 5 carts on campus (located in the Library, Music building, Peterson Gym, Business building and Gateway hall) BCB is always standing by to satisfy your coffee fix. Grab a cup on the way to class – they open everyday at 7:30AM for the early-risers. They proudly serve Cafe Moto Organic coffee and can’t wait to greet you on your first day of class.

Get Coffee & Lunch at Clockwork Coffee

Clockwork Coffee

If you’re looking for some energy, head to Clockwork for a fresh cup of coffee and a heart lunch. Thet’ve got a long list of Panini options, including the Sriacha Chicken Wrap (Carrots, Cream Cheese, Chick Peas, Tomato, Roasted Chicken, & Spinach with our Sriracha Cream sauce on a fresh large fresh tortilla… woah) and the Ciabatta Breakfast Pizza with Savory Ham and Salami. Clockwork has a wide variety of specialty coffee drinks available if you need something a little sweeter to get you going. A great place to hang out all day and sip on an Elvis Specialty Drink made with Chocolate, Banana and Peanuts! Also, did we mention the Super Smash Bros. tournament? They host it for college students every other Friday night from 6PM to 11PM.

Daily Grind Cafe to Help You Grind

Daily Grind Cafe

Get up early before class and get a hearty breakfast to start your day at Daily Grind Cafe. With pancakes, french toast, and omelettes being served in large portions, you definitely get a bang for your buck at this place. If you’re really looking to treat yourself, get the Krabby Benedict with 2 crab cakes served on poached eggs and super soft english muffins. Almost every meal is served with their super tasty home fries, our favorite aspect of Daily Grind. Head to brunch and get your cup of coffee here before spending your day hitting the books.

Coffee with Every Meal of the Day

Living Room Cafe

The Living Room Cafe definitely has the most options when it comes to sitting down for a full meal. They’re open all day with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. A couple of highlights from the menu include the incredible omelette skillets they serve for breakfast and the signature gyro sandwiches. Living Room also has a bakery, and makes cakes for birthday and party orders. They got tons of space for hanging out and board games available to play with friends. A great study spot… or not!

Bold Brew – An Original Aztec Brew

Bold Brew Coffee

Okay, you caught us. This isn’t an actual cafe near SDSU. Last year, two SDSU mechanical engineering students launched their own coffee brand, and we thought this was too cool to leave out. It’s called ‘Bold Brew Coffee’, and is aimed toward fueling action sports enthusiasts looking for an alternative to sugar-full energy drinks. Their website states, “We love coffee. We love skating, surfing, skydiving, snowboarding and anything that gets our adrenaline pumping. That’s why we created bold brew. We wanted to hype ourselves up at all times of the day without having to ingest harsh chemicals & artificial flavors.” Order your own bottle online and support some SDSU alumni!

Remember, start your semester with a limit of one cup a day. We all know that by finals time, you’ll be drinking much more than that. Good luck this semester!
